Aligners FAQ
Aligners
The quickest way to find this out, is to complete our quick 30 second online assessment.
Like other types of teeth braces, clear aligners work by gradually shifting teeth into the ideal position, making your teeth straight.
This is achieved through wearing a series of aligners, which apply carefully calculated pressure to each tooth to move them until the ideal alignment has been reached.
Wearing the aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day as recommended is key to achieving the results set out in your treatment plan.
No two cases are the same, however, most customers should complete their journey in 4 to 6 months. It is important to note that this completion time frame is based on wearing your aligners for the recommended 20 to 22 hours each day. Wearing the aligners as instructed is the key to achieving your signature smiles.
They are very discreet, most people will be totally unaware you are wearing them. If you have a special occasion and they are able to be taken out, that’s the beauty of clear aligners: you can take the aligners out, pop them in your case and put them back in once you are done. Remember to follow the guidelines; the success of the treatment relies on you following the guidelines.

All teeth realignment processes require some form of retention. You will need to wear a provided retainer to ensure that your teeth maintain their new and correct straightness. The retainer should be worn full time for the first month post-treatment and then nightly for about six weeks, gradually reducing to two to three nights per week.
It is normal to have refinement aligners, which are required when teeth do not behave as anticipated. Refinements are part of a new analysis and refreshed tooth movement plan to ensure the movement of less responsive teeth. In order to make refinements, we will need a new set of impressions to create a new tooth movement plan.
Each and every one of us has our own bone tissue structure and hardness, which affects the planned movements and forces applied by invisible aligners. Some movements are harder to execute and plan than others. Everyone is different, and individual biologic response to teeth straightening treatment is not possible to predict. This means that after all the aligners have been worn you may still need a bit more movement. This is known as the refinement aligner stage.
The refinement stage if required is an additional stage. Refinements can be purchased on our website.
Research has shown that 80%-90% of customers do not need refinements.
Yes, you will receive a complimentary set of retainers at the end of your treatment to ensure your teeth stay in their new, straight position.
